UC MAAP
WHAT IS UC MAAP?
Eligible Kings Canyon Unified School District (KCUSD) high school students will be guaranteed admission to UC Merced thanks to a strong partnership between the university and the district called the UC Merced Automatic Admission Program (UC MAAP).
This partnership means that KCUSD high school students who meet the minimum University of California A-G course requirements with a weighted 3.5 GPA or above, with no grade lower than a “C” are guaranteed admission to UC Merced after they graduate high school. Students must maintain that eligibility throughout their senior year.
WHO CAN BE PART OF THE PROGRAM?
Any 11th grade student in Kings Canyon Unified who meets the criteria above can sign a guaranteed admission agreement with UC Merced can apply to the UC MAAP.
WHAT KIND OF HELP IS AVAILABLE?
By participating in UC MAAP, students receive:
- Early preliminary review of admissions (Summer)
- Proactive Concierge application support (Fall)
- Priority review of their application to UC Merced (Winter)
- Early notification (by end of February)
- Enrollment Coaches (Spring to Fall Enrollment)

- STEP 1 Complete the MAAP Program Application | March 1 - June 1 of Junior Year
CLICK HERE to submit a free application to UCMAAP program. A major selected on the MAAP application is not binding. You can choose a different major when submitting your UC application in the fall.
- STEP 2 Complete the UC Application for Admission| October 1 - November 30 Senior Year
Use your CA Colleges account to access the UC Freshman Application. Make sure you select "UC Merced" when filling out this application. Research and select your major of choice as it is binding.
